Firstly, what is an artist residency? A residency offers time for reflection, research, presentation and/or production in an alternative environment. Usually in a physical space which offers the potential of working with new people, in new surroundings and with new materials.
What is a digital residency? A digital residency means, the artist occupies a virtual space, (a space online), whether it be a website, a social media account or a blog.
What is the SHARP gallery looking for? We are looking for someone to 'occupy' our tumblr blog for 3 weeks.
What will this will entail? This will entail sending us images and text to post, and 1 hour per week to work with us in the office, networking relevant blogs around your work.
What will you need to do to complete the residency?
1) Decide on a theme or concept you would like to explore.
2) Identify 4 points you would like to research.
3) Research using online resources (guidance will be available on methods of research)
4) Submit images and corresponding texts, twice a week
5) Attend the SHARP gallery to use the tumblr site and network with other bloggers for 1 hour per week.
